By now you’re probably in the thick of planning that outdoor party for the Fourth of July. Whether you’re putting together a barbecue cookout or a backyard picnic with family and friends, you’re going to need all the help you can get. Here are a few of our favorite hacks to make your party memorable in a good way!

Prepare food ahead of time

You don’t have to cook everything on the day of the party. This is a popular party hack for many because some foods are best prepared at least the night before your outdoor party. That way, you don’t have to sweat over a hot grill or stove in the summer heat. Some Fourth of July party favorites that are best made in advance include marinated meats, special sauces, kebabs, and refrigerated desserts.

Keep your guests cool all day

Summer may be the best time for an outdoor party on the Fourth of July, but the heat can be especially brutal at this point. Cool down your guests by filling up your cooler with ice and cold treats. And it doesn’t have to be all cold drinks all the time! One hack that you can use for your outdoor Fourth of July party is adding a closed container of aloe gel to the cooler for sunburns.

Put up a photo wall

In this age of social media, no party is complete without a photo op. Spice up your outdoor party by putting up a special Fourth of July-themed photo booth backdrop for picture taking. Don’t just stick to the “flag” theme, though; our favorite party hacks for outdoor photo ops include framing your backdrop with tall houseplants and adding fun props such as wacky hats and sunglasses.

Don’t forget the pets!

An outdoor party in the daytime is a great opportunity for guests to bring their dogs, but you may want to think twice about throwing meat or other “people food” their way. One party hack you can try is to make pet treats available at your get-together so your furry friends can eat safely. If possible, you can buy or bake “pupcakes” to keep the furbabies busy at your Fourth of July party. Better yet, send your dog-lover friends home with some special dog treats in case they have to secure their pets indoors while watching fireworks.

With these party hacks, you can be sure that you will enjoy your Fourth of July outdoor party with less stress. Give them a try this year!
